Bitumastic 300M is a high-build, two-component coal tar epoxy polyamide coating manufactured by Carboline. It’s designed for heavy-duty corrosion protection of steel and concrete surfaces and offers excellent chemical, corrosion, and abrasion resistance.
Available in black (will discolor or lose gloss in sunlight), it has a solids content of 74% ± 2% by volume and can be applied in one or two coats with a dry film thickness of 16–35 mils (400–875 microns). It’s self-priming but compatible with select topcoats like Carbothane 134 HG, and meets standards such as Corps of Engineers C-200, AWWA C-210-92, and SSPC-Paint 16.
Bitumastic 300M is used in aggressive industrial and marine environments where steel or concrete faces corrosion or chemical exposure. Common applications include:
Tanks and Piping: Interior and exterior linings for storage tanks and pipelines, especially in chemical or petroleum industries.
Sewage Treatment Plants: Protects concrete and steel in trenches, sumps, and other areas exposed to wastewater and fumes.
Marine Applications: Coats ship hulls, docks, and offshore platforms subjected to saltwater immersion.
Paper Mills and Chemical Plants: Maintenance coating for steel and concrete exposed to chemical spills, splashes, or vapors.
Below-Grade Structures: Protects foundations, sumps, and other buried or immersed concrete/steel surfaces.
Industrial Facilities: Applied to machinery, supports, or floors in harsh environments like refineries or manufacturing plants.
