Standard Non-Rated Flat Panels
Evolve Stone non-rated paneling is used in applications not near fire or a fireplace. Common uses for non-rated stone paneling are exterior siding and cladding, interior accent walls, outdoor walls and living areas that are not by a fire.
Fire-Rated Flat Panels
Fire rated evolve stone veneer paneling is typically used in applications where fire resistance is a concern. Evolve Stone fire-rated may need to be a certain level of thermal fire resistance.
Before installing stone veneer around a fireplace, it is essential to consult local fire codes for any special regulations. It is important not to use stone veneer inside the firebox or on the hearth. If the fireplace is open burning, a gap of non-combustible material must be maintained.
To accomplish this, metal firebox trim kits are available from various companies. Evolve Stone can be installed behind a wood stove, but to meet building code requirements, the stove must be 36 inches away from the stone face.
