ITC 213 is a high-performance ceramic coating specifically designed for metals and graphite surfaces, offering robust protection in extreme conditions, including high temperatures and direct contact with molten metals. It not only enhances the durability of stainless steel and other metal parts but also serves as an essential base coat for additional ceramic coatings.
Available in Pint, 1-gallon, & 5-gallon sizes
Key Features:
-
Superior Thermal Protection: With a temperature use limit of up to 3500°F (1927°C), this coating provides exceptional thermal protection, safeguarding metal surfaces from oxidation, erosion, and thermal fatigue in the harshest environments.
-
Enhanced Durability: This product's ceramic barrier significantly reduces the wear and tear on metal parts, resisting degradation over time. It offers negligible cured shrinkage and maintains a low porosity level (8-16%), ensuring a long-lasting, reliable finish.
-
Flexible Application: This coating can be used on its own or as a base layer for additional protective products, such as ITC 100HT or ITC 296A, to further enhance its protective properties.
-
Efficient Coverage: One gallon covers ~200 square feet, making it a cost-effective solution for large-scale industrial applications.
Application Instructions:
-
Surface Preparation: Clean and degrease the metal surface thoroughly using a dilute bleach solution. Lightly grind smooth surfaces and preheat the metal to around 100°F to ensure optimal adhesion and coating penetration.
-
Mixing: Combine one full container with 1/3 container of clean, potable water (40°F to 85°F). Mix until a uniform consistency is achieved, and avoid adding extra water during the process.
-
Application: Apply the coating evenly using a clean rag, sponge, or spray gun for larger surfaces. The thickness should be approximately 1/32” to 1/16”. Allow it to dry overnight before applying any additional topcoats.
-
Curing: Fire and bake the coating onto the metal substrate at a minimum of 250°F to ensure a strong, durable bond. Avoid excessive heat during the first 24 hours of drying.
Applications: Ideal for industrial settings, this ceramic coating protects metal surfaces exposed to high temperatures, molten metals, or corrosive environments. Typical applications include furnace linings, heat shields, and protective coatings for steel parts in manufacturing processes.
