Step 1 — Outside Corner Height

Step 2 — Flat Panel Wall Area

Step 3 — Universal Sill (optional)

Evolve Stone Corners install the same way as the flat panels — 16-gauge finish nailer, no mortar, no lath, no scratch coat. They wrap both faces of every outside corner in one pre-formed unit, picking up where your flat panel field ends. On exterior walls, install the WRB and Evolve Rainscreen before nailing corners into position. Order corners alongside your flat panels — lead times on corners tend to run longer than flats.

How Corners Fit the Full System

Standard Exterior Wall Assembly
New construction · wood-framed walls · full manufacturer warranty · ASTM E2556 compliant
Step 1 — Barrier WRB / House Wrap ASTM E2556 compliant · over OSB sheathing
Step 2 — Drainage Evolve Rainscreen Required exterior · 200 sq ft / roll
Step 3 — Field Stone Flat Panels Nail through rainscreen · 14.25 sq ft / box
Step 4 — You Are Here Evolve Corners All outside corner returns · 7 LF / box
Step 5 — Trim Universal Sill Window sills & ledge tops · 25 LF / box

Cut and butt the rainscreen at each corner — do not wrap or overlap the mat around the corner edge, as this causes tenting. Install corners first on each elevation, then work flat panels in from the corner to maintain a true vertical reference line.

Interior Accent Wall Assembly
No WRB or rainscreen needed · nails directly to OSB or plywood · Fire-Rated required at fireplace surrounds
Field Stone Flat Panels Nail direct to sheathing · no barrier needed
Corners — You Are Here Evolve Corners Outside corner returns · 7 LF / box
Ledges & Trim Universal Sill Mantel ledges & wall reveals · 25 LF / box

If the OSB substrate is light-colored, paint it black or tuck dark fabric behind the field stones so any gaps between pieces disappear visually rather than showing as bright lines.

Evolve Stone Corner Panels — Mortarless Nailable Stone Veneer Outside Corners

Evolve Stone Corner Panels — Outside Corners, No Mortar Required

Evolve Stone Corner Panels finish every outside corner of your project with the same face-nail installation as Evolve Stone Flat Panels — no mortar, no lath, no scratch coat. Each corner piece wraps both faces of the building corner in one unit, delivering a continuous, seamless stone appearance from field to edge.

Each box covers 7 linear feet of corner height and 7 square feet of combined face area. Available in all six Evolve Stone colors and both Non-Rated and Fire-Rated versions. Match your corner color and style to the flat panels on the same elevation for a unified look.

Important: Corners carry longer lead times than flat panels. Order corners at the same time as your flats — or earlier — to keep your project on schedule.

How to Estimate Your Corner Order

Corners are measured and ordered by linear feet of corner height, not by wall square footage. Walk the perimeter of your project and measure the vertical height of every outside corner that will receive stone. Add all those measurements together for your total linear footage.

Step What to Do
1. Measure Measure the vertical height (in linear feet) of every outside corner that will receive Evolve Stone
2. Total Add all corner heights together for total linear footage across the project
3. Add overage Multiply total by 1.10 to add a 10% overage for cuts and waste at the top and bottom
4. Divide and round up Divide by 7 (linear ft per box) and round up to the nearest whole box
Example 4 corners at 9 ft each = 36 linear ft × 1.10 = 39.6 ÷ 7 = 5.66 → order 6 boxes
Product Coverage per Box Used For
Corner Panels (all styles) 7 linear ft · 7 sq ft Outside corners only
Flat Panels (most styles) 14.25 sq ft / box Field installation on flat wall surfaces
Evolve Rainscreen 200 sq ft / roll Required for all exterior installations

Inside corners do not use corner panels — see installation notes below.

Shipping & Lead Times

Call (800) 567-5358 to confirm current corner availability before placing your order.

Corners ship separately from flats and typically carry a longer lead time — often 2–4 weeks or more, depending on style, color, and current production. This is one of the most common reasons stone projects run into delays.

Best practice: Order your corners at the same time as your flat panels, or even before your flat panels if the project timeline is tight. Do not wait until your flats arrive to place the corner order.

If corners are backordered at time of purchase, lead times may extend to 4–6 weeks. We will contact you with an updated ship date if this applies to your order.

Installing Evolve Stone Corner Panels

Corner panels install with the same finish-nailer technique as flat panels, but the sequencing and layout around the corner require specific attention to produce a clean, professional result.

Step What to Do Key Detail
1. Prep the wall Install WRB and Evolve Rainscreen on both faces meeting at the corner Cut and butt rainscreen at the corner — never wrap or overlap around the corner edge
2. Start at the corner Begin installation at each outside corner and work toward the field (away from the corner) Corner panels set the vertical reference line — install them before adjacent flat panels
3. Alternate leg lead Alternate which leg of the corner leads as you stack vertically, just as you would interlock traditional corner stone This creates the natural interlocking corner look and prevents a visible seam running straight up the corner
4. Nail each leg Nail both legs of each corner piece into the substrate — treat each leg as a separate flat stone of equivalent size for nail count Minimum 2 nails per leg; add nails to eliminate any wobble before moving to the next course
5. Fit flat panels to corners After corners are set, butt adjacent flat panels to the corner leg edge — the corner panel leg becomes the termination point for the flat stone field Measure and cut flat panels as needed; miter saw or jigsaw work well for close cuts
6. Inside corners Inside corners do not use corner panels — miter flat panels at 45° or butt and caulk with color-matched exterior sealant No special inside corner product exists in the Evolve Stone line

Good to Know Before You Order

ⓘ What Every Corner Buyer Should Know

  1. Order corners early — this is the most common project delay. Corners are a high-demand, lower-production-volume item. They are frequently backordered while flats are in stock. If you wait until your flats arrive to order corners, you may be waiting weeks before your project can finish. Call us at (800) 567-5358 to check availability before you place your flat panel order.
  2. Match style and color exactly to your flat panels. Corner panels are pre-blended to coordinate with the flat panel boxes of the same color, but only within the same style. A National True corner will not have the same stone sizes as a Georgetown Run corner. Order corners and flats in the same style name for the same elevation.
  3. Corners set the vertical line for the whole elevation. Install corner panels first, then work flat panels toward them from the field. Setting corners first gives you the true vertical reference and prevents the stepped misalignment that happens when flat panels are installed first and corners are cut in later.
  4. Alternate leg lead on every course. Traditional corner stone interlocks so that neither face runs a straight vertical seam. Evolve Stone corners work the same way — alternate which leg leads (left vs. right leg extends further) as you stack vertically. This is a quick step that has a large visual impact on the finished result.
  5. Non-Rated ships by default unless you specify Fire-Rated at time of order. Both versions look identical on the pallet and in the box. Always check the label before installation. For fireplace surrounds, pizza ovens, kitchen applications, or anywhere local code requires a fire rating, specify Fire-Rated corners and flats at the same time.

Frequently Asked Questions — Evolve Stone Corner Panels

How many linear feet does one box of Evolve Stone Corners cover?
Each box covers 7 linear feet of corner height and 7 square feet of combined face area across both legs. To estimate your order, measure the total height of all outside corners receiving stone, multiply by 1.10 for overage, divide by 7, and round up to the nearest whole box.
How long do corners take to ship?
Corners typically have longer lead times than flat panels — often 2 to 4 weeks or more depending on style, color, and current inventory. They are a high-demand item that can go on backorder. Call (800) 567-5358 to check current availability before placing your order, and order corners at the same time as or before your flat panels.
Do Evolve Stone Corners work on inside corners?
No. Corner panels are designed for outside corners only. Inside corners are handled by mitering flat panels at 45 degrees on a miter saw, or by butting flat panels flush and filling the joint with a color-matched exterior sealant or caulk.
Do I need to match the corner style to my flat panel style?
Yes. Corner panels are produced in the same five styles as flat panels (Georgetown Run, National True, Capital Sky, District View, and select Monument Gate). The stone sizes within a corner box are proportioned to match the field stones in the corresponding flat panel style. Mixing styles at a corner — for example using a Capital Sky corner with Georgetown Run flats — will produce a visible size mismatch at the transition.
What are the leg dimensions of a corner panel?
Each corner piece has two legs that extend approximately 5 to 6 inches on each side of the corner. Because individual corner stones vary in size, the exact leg length differs between pieces within a box. Plan your layout to account for this variation — typically, the flat panel field starts after the corner leg ends, so the leg dimension determines where your first full field stone sits on each face.
Can Evolve Stone Corners be used indoors?
Yes. For interior installations, no WRB or rainscreen is needed — corner panels nail directly to wood sheathing just like flat panels. For applications near heat sources such as fireplace surrounds, Fire-Rated corners are required. Always specify fire-rated at time of ordering — Non-Rated and Fire-Rated product look identical from the outside.
Do Evolve Stone Corners require mortar?
No. Evolve Stone Corners install with the same finish-nailer technique as the flat panels — no mortar, no wire lath, no scratch coat. Each leg of the corner piece nails into the OSB or plywood substrate through the Evolve Rainscreen. The result is a stone corner that looks identical to traditionally installed mortar-set stone in a fraction of the time.
